Cooking is one of my most prominent hobbies.  I also have a "sweet tooth" for desserts and candy, especially chocolate. Could it be earth?  I don't think so.  These dishes never go outside.  Is it residue from ice cream or another food?  Probably not, it's on containers that hold all kinds of things.  Aha!
